Chandigarh, October 12, 2023: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur chaired a weekly meeting of senior police officers to review the work being done by the department in priority areas and discuss the welfare of policemen.
Priority Areas and Policemen Welfare Discussed in Detail
The meeting included a detailed discussion on the welfare of policemen and the department’s priority areas. A report was presented on providing employment and training to the children of policemen.
147 Children of Policemen to Receive Training and Employment
In the first phase, a list of children of 147 police personnel has been prepared to provide training and employment to the unemployed children of police personnel. Skill development of all these youth will be done as per their interest. Their training is being started by forming separate batches. Training for driving has been started in batches of 10 children in Rohtak and Hisar.
Similarly, a training program for security guards will be started in Bhondsi from October 15. All these youth are being trained on the basis of their educational qualification and interest. Work is being done to prepare a detailed action plan with the bank officials for training the youth. Partnerships are being formed with companies under CSR to provide jobs for all the youth.
To provide computer training, a plan has been prepared in collaboration with an organization called Hartron, where youth will be trained in different batches.
All Expenses of Training to Be Borne by Police Department
Shri Kapoor said that all the expenses of training of children of Class IV, contract basis and part time policemen will be borne by the police department whereas for the training of other children, a nominal amount will be charged from them. He told that after getting training from here, these children will also be employed by the police department. He said that children of policemen above 50 years of age will also be given jobs on the basis of their educational qualification to boost their morale.
Welfare of Women Policemen Discussed
The welfare of women policemen was also discussed in the meeting. DIG Women Security Nazneen Bhasin told that crèches have been opened in women police stations of the districts for women policemen who have small children. She informed that 33 such crèches have been opened in the state where staff have been appointed to take care of the children of women policemen. Further plans will be made in the interest of women after assessing the situation in future.
ADGP CID Alok Mittal, ADGP Cyber OP Singh, ADGP Modernization and Welfare Alok Kumar Rai, ADGP Law and Order Mamta Singh, ADGP Admin Kala Ramachandran, ADGP Crime Ajay Singal, ADGP IT Arshindar Chawla, IG IT Amitabh Dhillon, IG Admin Sanjay Singh, AIG Provisioning Kamaldeep Goyal, AIG Welfare Rajeev Deshwal and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
