1. BIS promotes and creates awareness about standards among various stakeholders viz. Industries, Government, Academia & Consumers through various standards promotion activities. Gram Panchayats are the foundation of local self-government at the grassroots level of the country. Gram Panchayats play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of various development projects & schemes at village levels. Therefore, the sensitization of the Gram Panchayats about Indian Standards and their implementation is an important aspect.
In this context, DG, BIS has directed all the BOs to send a detailed letter to Gram Panchayats across the country for utilizing Indian Standards in the implementation of various Govt. plans and schemes. A list of important and relevant Standards has also been prepared and forwarded to BOs for sharing with Gram Panchayats.
1.1 It is also desirable that after sending the letters to Gram Panchayats, their office bearers i.e. the presidents and secretaries are sensitized by holding interactive district-wise meetings. Keeping in view, the large number of gram panchayats in the country, the support of volunteers from MNGOs/ NGOs /COs working at the village level is required for conducting these meetings.
So, our department has issued a list of MNGOs and NGOs to be contacted for above-said sensitization program at the Gram Panchayat Level in the 9 districts of Haryana viz., Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Yamunangar, Kaithal, Jind, Fatehabad, and Sirsa.
Therefore, you are requested to kindly extend your support to BIS and confirm your participation in carrying out the above-said project.
In view of above, Haryana Branch Office, BIS is organizing an Orientation Program at BIS Northern Regional Office, Chandigarh on 12.09.2023(Tuesday). You are cordially invited to participate in the Orientation Program. Your presence is highly valuable.
