It was a proud Moment for the Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh that two faculty members Dr. Ranjay Vardhan, Head, Department of Sociology and Prof. Sudhir Hindwan, Head, Department of Political Science have been awarded the coveted “RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD” by Former Speaker, Lok Sabha at a glittering ceremony organized by India International Friendship Society at India International Centre, New Delhi for their outstanding work in Academics and Research.

Earlier, they were awarded “ASIAN ADMIRABLE ACHIEVERS AWARD” and their biography was published in prestigious Volume Asian Admirable Achievers by Rifacimento International. The Volume has published biographies of top scholars from Asian countries such as Malaysia, Japan, China, Qatar, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, etc.

Dr Ranjay Vardhan has represented India at UNO, NGOCSW65 in 2021 and NGOCSW66 in 2022 held at New York during parallel session of UNWOMEN, UNO. He has been given Membership of UNWOMEN, UNO, USA for one year. Dr Ranjay Vardhan was Nominated as Chairperson in State Focus Group (Value Education) by Ministry of Education as part of guidelines for implementation of New Education Policy and has submitted the Report. Dr Ranjay Vardhan is an author of International repute and has published Thirteen Books & 30 articles. His book titled “Covidalization: Covid Socialization A New Concept in Social Science” was released by His Excellency Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh. One of his papers has been published in a book by Springer Nature and other paper in International Annals of Criminology published by Cambridge University Press. He has completed IMPRESS ICSSR Major Project as Project Director. He is also Program Director, Exchange Program with Auburn University, USA.

Prof. Sudhir Hindwan, a recipient of Bharat Gaurav Award 2016 has contributed enormously in the field of policy research and interviewed by national and international media (Times of India, Delhi, Los Angeles Times, Irish Times, Asia News, etc) during his half decade stint with leading think tanks. A columnist (published numerous Edit-op-ed lead articles in the The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, Financial Express, Economic Times, Indian Express, The Times of India, Observer of Business and Politics, Deccan Herald and The Pioneer ever since 1994 onwards) and a prolific academic contributor he has over 172 publications of national and International repute to his credit. Prof. Hindwan also received a number of renowned fellowships, travel grants for academic presentation in London, Belfast, Londonderry, Denmark, Belgium, Conway Hall, Sydney, Washington, Japan, Istanbul Turkey and Thamasaat University Bangkok Thailand. Served as a member of higher education academic selection and publications committees. Presently working as Professor and also reviewer of leading Sage Journal. Also working as Nodal Officer- Integrated Courses, ELC, Convener-Public Relations & Press Committee, Overall Convener -G20 Programmes to celebrate India’s Presidency of G-20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav India@75 under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Prof. Nisha Aggarwal, Principal congratulated Dr. Ranjay Vardhan and Prof. Sudhir Hindwan for this wonderful achievement and said that teachers and students should strive hard for excellence in life.
