Special guests from various walks of life invited to attend this Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi
They include sarpanches of Vibrant villages, teachers, nurses, farmers, fishermen, people working in flagship programmes such as Central Vista project, Amrit Sarovar, Harghar Jal etc
41 beneficiaries of FPO schemes from Haryana among special invitees
41 beneficiaries of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) scheme, hailing from the state of Haryana, will witness the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort, Delhi on August 15, 2023 as Special Guests. Two hundred and fifty (250) beneficiaries of the scheme, along with their spouses, are among around 1,800 persons who have been invited to listen to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the Nation from ramparts of the iconic monument. The initiative to invite the people from various walks of life, across India, and be a part of the celebrations has been taken by the Government in line with its vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’.
During the visit, the special guests will get an opportunity to visit the National War Memorial and the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalya (Prime Ministers Museum)
Speaking to DD News in Haryana, Suresh Kumar, who hails from Fatehabad was looking forward to visit the National capital and be part of the Independence Day events. Speaking about his livelihood, He appreciated the scheme saying that today has become an iconic day for the people of the state when new schemes have been started where each farmer is receiving Rs 2000 by PM to honor their work.
Another beneficiary Dr Sandip Singh, FPO, hailing from Haryana, lauded the Government’s initiative and stated that farmers are happy after receiving the amount in their accounts, also because they have been provided a new variety of fertilizer containing Sulphur, which is further going to add fertility to their soil, leading to possibility of doubling of their incomes in the times to come.
The concept behind Farmer Producer Organisations is that farmers, who are the producers of agricultural products, can form groups. To facilitate this process, the Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium was mandated by Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture to support the State Governments in the formation of Farmer Producer Organisations.
