Suresh Gandharv regale city audience in Pracheen Kala Kendra’s 286th monthly Baithak
For the last 24 years, Monthly baithaks of the Kendra are integral part of Kendra’s Cultural activities . As you are aware that PKK is continuously working towards the promotion and preservation of Indian performing arts. Kendra organized its 286th Monthly baithak programe here today in the M.L.Koser auditorium of the Kendra. Sh. Dhanpat Singh, State Election Commissioner , Haryana graced the occasion as Special Guest.
The programe featuring Delhi based renowned classical Vocalist Pt. Suresh Gandharv. Originally born in Haryana, Suresh started off with Haryanvi folk music. Later, he received formal training in music under the tutelage of Guru Ravindra Bisht of Indore Gharana. Delhi University topper Suresh Gandharva in 1982 has made a special place in the hearts of music lovers by his performances all over India.
He commenced with Raag Yamanwith Bada khayal composition “Kajra Kaise Daroon” followed by chhota khayal studded with bandish “Aise Sunder Sugharwa Balamwa”. After this he moved on to present a composition adorned with Raga Megh set to Jhaptal with the bols “Garje Ghata Ghanan Ghor”. After this he presented Tarana. He concluded program with a melodious bhajan “Aali More Nainan” amidst applause.
He was well accompanied on stage by Roman Khan on Tabla and Zakir Dholpuri on Harmonium. At the end of the program, the Secretary of the Kendra Mr. Sajal Koser along with Special Guest Sh. Dhanpat Singh, State Election Commissioner , Haryana honored the artists.
