Sukhna Zone registered a ten-wicket easy win over Leisure Zone in Men’s Seniors Cricket

Sukhna Zone outclass Rock Zone in a one sided affair in U19

Chandigarh, Sukhna Zone registered an easy ten-wicket victory over Leisure Zone at a league match of the ongoing UTCA Men’s Senior Multi Days Tournament being played at GMSSS, Sector 26 on Saturday. Sukhna Zone scored 316/6 in reply to Leisure Zone’s 208 which secured them a lead of 108 runs. Later, Leisure Zone restricted to 119/4 in the second innings in stipulated 40 overs and posed a mere target of 12 which Sukhna Zone surpassed without losing a  wicket.

Meanwhile, a match between Rose Zone and Rock Zone settled in a draw at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium. Rock Zone could manage only 175 against the Rock Zone’s mammoth of 309. Later, Rose Zone declared their innings at 224/5 in 40 overs and posed the target of 359. Unbeaten Ankit Kaushik (101) scored a century while Ankit Chaudhary (78) managed a half century. Leisure Zone scored 183/3 at the end of the day’s play, which resulted in a draw. Sarul Kanwar (95) was the top scorer for the side.

Meanwhile, in the Under-19 tournament, Sukhna Zone gave Rock Zone a massive defeat by an innings and 179 runs at the Baba Balak Nath Cricket Ground. Demolishing  Rock  Zone for 113 runs, Sukhna Zone declared at 381/6 with the fine contributions from Tejveer (97), Jashn (78) and Chirag (74) and took a massive lead of 268. Rock Zone’s dismal show continued as they were again bundled out for 89 runs.

In another league match between Bird Zone and Leisure Zone of the same format played at the Cricket Institute of Cricket ended in a draw. Leisure Zone was all out for 197 in reply to Bird Zone’s 276/8. Bird Zone scored 24/1 in the second innings and the match ended in a draw
