Mayank and Arpit compensates the early loss for Leisure Zone
Aksh Rana misses his ton in U19
Chandigarh: The half centuries from Mayank Sidhu (88) and skipper Arpit Pannu (69) done the damage control for Leisure Zone after a shaky start against Sukhna Zone on the first day of the fifth match of the UTCA Men’s Senior Multi Days Cricket Tournament being played at GMSS School, Sector 26 on Thursday. The match was started on a delayed note due to wet outfield as Sukhna Zone opted to bat first. Later, a lethal bowling attack led by Rohit Dhanda (4/27) reduced the side to 28/4 which was further compensated by the duo.
Meanwhile, in another match played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, Rose Zone scored 227/7 runs against Rock Zone with the fine contributions from opener Abhijeet Garg (56) and Lakshya (54). Rahul Sharma added 45 runs.
The Men’s Under 19 tournament faced a setback due to bad weather followed by wet outfield as both matches settled for the draw due to unfinished innings at Kaimbala. Bird Zone resumed their overnight score from 267/4 against Terrace Zone and declared at 301/6 at Baba Balak Nath Cricket Ground. Rannvijay (91) and Captain Ishan Gaba (71) were the top scorers while Nishank Birla took three wickets from the bowling side. In reply, Aksh Rana (98) missed his century while Ajai Jain added 56 to steer the unfinished innings to 193/3.
