On Day VI of G20Janbhagidari’ the office of District Education Officer organized a conference on G20,NEP20 and FLN. The conference registered the presence of Director School Education Sh. HPS Brar,DDSE II Ms. Ravinder Kaur, DEO Ms. Bindu Arora, Dy. DEO Ms. Poonam Sood, Dy. DEO II Sh. Rajan Jain along with the Principals and Heads of the schools under the Department of School Education Chandigarh.
DSE expressed happiness over the growing interest and activities about the G-20 and related events. He laid emphasis on adapting NEP 2020 in its true spirit and motivated the Principals and heads to put the objectives of the policy to practice at the grassroot level to ensure that Chandigarh becomes 100% NEP 2020 compliant.
Ms. Ravinder Kaur,DDSE II, shared her views on National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat), for ensuring that every child in the schools of Chandigarh necessarily attains foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by the end of Grade 3. She mentioned that the FLN policy is a recommendation in the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to encourage primary school students’ ability to read basic literacy texts and solve basic numeracy problems.
The conference aimed to emphasize the importance of inclusive, holistic, multidisciplinary, and fruitful education as outlined in the National Education Policy.
