High Court directed the Vigilance Department, Punjab, Punjab Government and DGP Punjab to file status report regarding ongoing vigilance investigation regarding fake sports certificate scam

Action is being taken against the players who got government jobs and promotions on the basis of fake championship certificates and the netball sports organization of Punjab (Punjab Netball Association, Netball Federation of India-Adhoc Committee and responsible employees and officers of the Sports Department, Punjab Government) for organizing fake championships. In the investigation, the court has sought answers from the Punjab vigilance and the Punjab government. The Chief Bureau of Vigilance, DGP Punjab Police and Secretary to the Punjab Government have been directed to submit status report by August 16. This information has been given by Ritesh Aggarwal, Advocate of Punjab Haryana High Court Chandigarh.
High-court lawyer Ritesh Aggarwal told in the press conference that since the year 2017, the sports organization Netball Promotion Association Regd. Is working for the upliftment of Netball game in state of Punjab. A petition was filed by Punjab General Secretary Karan Avtar Kapil being complainant, in the Punjab Haryana High Court, Chandigarh. The complaint alleged that the officials of the Punjab Netball Association had created a fake national body called the Netball Federation of India-Adhoc Committee. On the basis of which fake certificates were distributed to their players by conducting national games in the Punjab and some other states. On the basis of which netball players can got admissions in doctor degree and got government jobs. On the other hand, the responsible employees and officials of the Sports Department of Punjab, Chandigarh also openly supported the officials of the fake national organization Netball Federation of India-Adhoc Committee.
Advocate Ritesh Aggarwal told that only after that Netball Promotion Association Regd. Karan Avtar Kapil, the general secretary of Punjab, had approached the Hon’ble High Court court, the vigilance department and the government.
He told that the court in order to do justice in this matter took a stern stand and thereafter Karan Avtar Kapil, General Secretary, Netball Promotion Association Regd. has started receiving threats. About which information has been given to the senior officers of the Vigilance Department. But no action has been taken even after a few months, apart from this, it was also brought to the notice of the Hon’ble Court that another registered inquiry on the same subject is pending with the Vigilance Department since 30/11/2022. Regarding which the Hon’ble High Court has sought response by way of status report from the Punjab Vigilance and Punjab Government in the ongoing investigation against the responsible employees and officials of Punjab Netball Association and Sports Department of Punjab, an associate of Netball Federation of India-Adhoc Committee. The Chief Bureau of Vigilance, DGP Punjab Police and Secretary to the Punjab Government have been directed to submit the status report by August 16.
