Special Screening of 100th episode of Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat held at Punjab Raj Bhawan
MKB is connecting hearts and minds of people, promoting unity and hope – Banwari Lal Purohit
CHANDIGARH, APRIL 30: Prasar Bharti, hosted a special screening of the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat (MKB) program at the Punjab Raj Bhawan, where 400 eminent personalities participated. Sh. Banwarilal Purohit, Administrator Chandigarh and Governor Punjab also witnessed the event with other invitees.
Mann Ki Baat, a monthly program initiated by the Prime Minister in October 2014, gained immense popularity over the years, with people from all walks of life tuning in to hear the Prime Minister speak. It has struck a chord with citizens of India who have reached out to the Prime Minister every month, sharing their achievements, anxieties, happiness and proud moments as well as suggestions for a New India.
Addressing the audience after the screening of MKB, Shri Purohit said that Mann Ki Baat is a unique and historic programme which connects the hearts and minds of people and is successfully promoting unity and hope among its audience. It is a source of inspiration to many and has brought about an awakening in the country. It resonates with people as it is about their concerns.
The initiative highlights government and citizen action in priority areas and in turn encourages listeners to establish or participate in change-making initiatives in their own communities, with the aim to have a lasting and sustainable impact on the lives of people and the country.
The Governor said that the entire nation is proud of this novel interactive programme and not just the Indians but the entire world is taking cognizance of this progamme. In the 100th Episode of MKB UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay appreciated this interactive programme and interacted with the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Shri Purohit said that the 100th episode is a witness to the fact that entrepreneurial opportunities abound in the nation – all that is required is little hand holding to turn the youth from job seekers to job providers.
He said that, “Prime Minister inspires and energizes not only on social, cultural and economic issues, but also on problems like climate change, waste management, energy crisis.” He also added that the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program has been completely successful in establishing a strong bond between the government and the people.
The 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat is a significant milestone in the program’s history. The special screening at the Punjab Raj Bhawan attracted a wide audience, including eminent personalities from various fields.
To make the event memorable, the Governor interacted and honoured the four Mann Ki Baat participants who in different episodes had been mentioned by the Prime Minister for their initiatives. These special invitees were Shri Sanjay Rana, a humble food stall owner in Sector 29 of Chandigarh, Gurbachan Singh, a farmer hailing from village Bur Deva Singh in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, Shri Bir Dalvinder Singh, a farmer from Kallar Majri and Dr. Gurjeet Kaur, working as an Assistant Professor in PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at GDSD College, Chandigarh, the first research scholar who completed Ph.D on Prime Minister’s Monthly Radio Programme Mann Ki Baat.
The Governor also had lunch with these invitees. It was a feast for eyes to see a Chhole Bahutre seller and farmers sitting besides the Governor and savouring the delicaies.
The broadcast of this special episode was also done in 250 public places Chandigarh including Central Jail, Schools, Burail Central Jail, Rock Garden, Elante Mall, Sukhna Lake.
The event also saw an informative and beautiful exhibit of Mann ki Baat Journey by Press Information Bureau. The exhibition covered every aspect of India’s far reaching initiative that has not only empowered the people of our country but has also connected them with each other.
Later, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit and invitees also observed two minutes silence for the victims of the Ludhiana Gas tragedy and also prayed for the departed souls.
