Cycling Group of Chandigarh Launches Free Light Campaign to Promote Safety
On Labor Day, members of the Cycling Group of Chandigarh launched a noble campaign to distribute free lights and reflective tape to laborers commuting on bicycles in the city. Approximately 50 members of the group raised funds and installed lights and reflective tape on nearly 400 bicycles for the safety of the riders.
This initiative was conducted at Kisan Bhawan, a busy intersection in the city, at around 6:30 pm when most laborers were returning home from work. The lights were equipped on the bicycles to reduce the risk of accidents during low-light hours.
In addition, the laborers were informed about the benefits of using lights while cycling and were taught how to charge the lights at home for reuse. The members of the Cycling Group worked together to carry out this initiative on all the bicycles, making sure that everyone was equipped with lights and reflective tape.
Dr. Sunaina, the founder of the Cycling Group, expressed her gratitude towards the laborers and said that this is just a small beginning. She added that the Cycling Group will continue to promote such initiatives in the future to ensure the safety of all the cyclists in the city.
The laborers who received the lights expressed their gratitude towards the Cycling Group for their kind gesture. This campaign has set an example for others to follow in promoting cycling safety in the city.
