Gully Cricket Tournament enters in next phase

Haryana Governor and former CM of HP  will be the chief guest at the exhibition match between the MLAs of Punjab and Haryana on Saturday.

Chandigarh, The Gully Cricket Tournament which is being organized by UT Cricket Association (UTCA) and Chandigarh Police enters in the next phase on Thursday.  A total of 19 matches were held on the eighth day of the tournament wherein 2815 runs were scored while  232 wickets were clinched in the total 19 played matches .

Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police’s DSP Ram Gopal along with about 50 children of the colonies came to watch the match being organized at the PEC’s Ground. Nasha Mukti Express also reached among the players as DSP Ram Gopal advised the players to stay away from drugs and make sports as their career.

Later in the evening, UTCA officials also had a review meeting in wake of exhibition match to be held between Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker’s XI and Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker’s XI scheduled on Saturday. UTCA President Sanjay Tandon said that the match is being played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium will be attended by Haryana’s Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Jairam Thakur as Chief Guests.

The results of some matches played on Thursday were as follows.

Team No. 77 (65/6) lost to Team No. (66/3) by seven wickets

Team No. 33 (101/7) beat Team No. 32 (66/5) by 35 runs

Team No. 158 (116/4) lost to Team No. 160 (117/5) by five wickets

Team No. 198 (81/7) lost to Team No. 197 (85/5) by five wickets

Team No. 113 (88/5) lost to Team No. 112 (89/2) by eight wickets

Team No. 175 (92/7) beat Team No. 173 (83/9) by nine runs

Team No. 94 (172/2) beat Team No. 95 (89/4) by 83 runs

Team No. 110 (43 all out) lost to Team No. 11 (44/2) by eight wickets

Team No. 155 (93/6) beat Team No. 154 (74/5) by 19 runs

Team No. 196 (101/3) lost to Team No. 195 (103/1) by nine wickets

Team No. 14 (88/5) lost to Team No. 13 (89/6) by four wickets
