An art exhibition with the theme “No Voter to Be Left Behind” begins today at the Underpass open art gallery, Sector 16-17, Chandigarh. The exhibition is organised by the Chief Electoral Officer, U.T., Chandigarh. The main purpose of the exhibition is to encourage and motivate young voters to cast their votes.

Sh. Saurabh Arora, PCS, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, U.T., Chandigarh, inaugurated the exhibition and felicitated all the awardees.

This exhibition consists of 39 excellent art works from across the city’s colleges. An intercollege painting competition was organised prior to this exhibition, in which the city’s 23 colleges participated and each college’s Electoral Literacy Club (established to encourage young voters to cast their vote) submitted its three best artworks. The Chairman of the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi chose the winners and eligible works out of all the received paintings.

Avneet Kaur, a student of Chandigarh College of Architecture from Sector 12, stood first in the competition. Ankita Kumari, a student of the Government College of Arts, Sector 10, Chandigarh, stood second and Sejal, a student of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45-B, Chandigarh, stood third in the competition.
On the other hand, Hazel, a student of Chandigarh College of Architecture, Sector 12, Chandigarh; Saumya Singh, a student of PGGCG, Sector 11, Chandigarh; and Ravneet Kaur, of MCM DAV College, Sector 36, Chandigarh, were awarded with the consolation prize.
All the participants received certificates from the department. This exhibition will run until April 5, 2023. Entry is free for all.
