“ PGI Interventional Radiologist Dr. Ujjwal Gorsi awarded at National Interventional Radiology Conference”
Dr Ujjwal Gorsi, Associate Professor in Department of Radiodiagnosis was felicitated at the 25th Annual National Conference of Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) held at Hyderabad from February 9th to 12th .
He received the coveted “Best Reviewer Award” for his exemplary contribution to the ISVIR Society’s journal for the year 2022.
Prof M S Sandhu, Head of Department of Radiodiagnosis informed that Dr. Ujjwal was also Elected to the Executive Council of ISVIR for year 2023 as Joint Secretary which is a matter of pride for the Department.
Dr. Ujjwal has received specialized training i.e. DM in Interventional Radiology and focuses on minimally invasive endovascular procedures related to genitourinary pathologies and peripheral arterial disease. He has special interest in treating patients of acute vascular bleed presenting to the emergency services.
To his credit he is part of the team which performed and published the first case series of cryoablation for renal tumors from India. Interventional Radiology is a subspeciality of Medicine which uses image guidance to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures through very small incisions or body orifices.
