As the nation celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the seventy fifth year of India’s independence, India Post, through the Republic-Day tableaux, has attempted to reaffirm its commitment towards women empowerment both within and through the Post offices. India Post is also organizing AMRITPEX-2023, a National Philately Exhibition. The exhibition will be held from 11th to 15th Feb 2023 at New Delhi with ‘Women Power’ as one of its theme.
In addition to this India Post has also started a special campaign for opening of 7.5 lakh Sukanya Samridhi Yojana ( SSY ) accounts across the country on 09-10/02/2023. This account can be opened with minimum Rs 250- and maximum Rs 150000- in the name of a girl child who has not attained the age of 10 years on the date of opening of account. Deposits under these accounts will enjoy benefit of Income Tax rebate . Present rate of interest in this account is 7.6 % . More than 63000 ( Sixty three thousand ) SSY opened in Punjab Circle till date in this financial year 2022-23. For opening of SSY account , visit your nearest Post Office on any working day.
