District Family Planning Indemnity Subcommittee meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Vinay Partap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh to review Family Planning Programme in UT Chandigarh.
Dr. Suman, Director Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Vandana Mohan, District Family Welfare Officer cum Programme Officer ( RCH-II), Dr. Birenderjit Kaur, HOD Gynae,GMSH-16 and Dr.K.S. Bal , HOD Surgery,GMSH-16 attended the meeting.
This committee looks after the implementation of Family Planning Programme. It functions are to redress, dispose and disburse any claims / complaints received.
The indicators, achievements of Family Planning i.e Female and Male Sterilizations, IUCD insertion, condom and oral contraceptives pill distribution, injectable contraceptive Antara were discussed. Way to take the Family Planning programme forward were discussed in details. Activities done in World Population Day Campaign and Vasectomy Fortnight were also shared with the Chairperson.
Cases of failure of sterilization reported so far and paid dues as per the double compensation under family planning indemnity scheme were apprised to the commitee .Status of Clinics registered under Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021 and surrogacy act was also informed.
