CRAWFED strongly oppose the proposed policy for charging parking fees from the residents for parking their vehicle within the sector in front of their houses. By charging parking fees the parking problem is not going to be solved. Chandigarh Administration should have invited the proposals from general public in this regard so that effective measures could be taken in solving the parking problems . Community parking can be one of the best solution in this regard . The Chandigarh Administration can also consider the usage of vacant land lying unused or encroached by the corner houses for converting them into parking places .Further they should also educate the people who are using the the ramps in front of their houses by converting them into gardens Even the Chandigarh Administration can ask the owner of the vehicle for mentioning the space for parking at the time of registration With regards Hitesh puri Chairman CRAWFED
