Chandigarh Chapter of Radiology hosts Annual Conference
The Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh organized the 10th Annual Conference of the Chandigarh Chapter of IRIA from 10th to 11thDecember 2022 with Dr. M.S. Sandhu, Head, Deptt. of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, PGIMER as Chairperson and Dr. Tulika Singh as Organizing Secretary. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Pushpraj Bhatele, President of the National body of IRIA.
The conference was a theme meeting on Women’s Imaging, keeping in mind the ongoing advancements in imaging and intervention in field of Breast and Obstetric and Gynecology. The radiologists need to keep themselves updated with the latest developments and also need to enrich their knowledge in the field. The program of this meeting was so designed to arouse interest amongst the residents as well as to provide information about the radiology of both common as well as uncommon diseases in the field of Women’s Imaging.
Dr. Veenu Singla stated that PGI is the 1st Hospital in India to start a Womens Imaging Fellowship course.
Eminent national faculty shared their knowledge with the delegates. There were stalwart speakers on various topics. The conference was attended by over 200 delegates including postgraduate students from various medical colleges of the region. There were a record number of submissions of abstracts for this conference. Some of these delegates also presented their research work as well as show-cased their knowledge in the form of oral and digital presentations.
Eight eminent radiologists of the Chapter, Dr. Mandeep Kang, Dr. Naveen Kalra, Dr. Kushaljit Singh Sodhi, Dr. Mahesh Prakash, Dr. Manphool Singhal, Dr. Harish Bhujade, Dr. Pankaj Gupta all from PGI, and Dr. Sandhya Dhankhar were honoured for their significant contribution to the field of radiology in the year 2022. Dr. Tulika Singh was given a Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding contribution as Secretary of the State Chapter for last 2 years.
