Celebrations of Chandigarh Carnival begins
The Chandigarh Carnival, 2022 was inaugurated today by Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh today in the presence of Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator.
The much awaited annual event was opened in a grand manner. Housing artists from different parts of the world, this carnival will showcase art forms from Japan, Korea, Bangladesh & Nepal.
The Administrator flagged off the Carnival Parade that showcased Horse Riders, Floats created by Chandigarh Arts College students, hop on hop off bus etc. Chandigarh also grooved to the dhol beats of 75 Dholi artists who took a tour of the City Beautiful from Sector 10 to Sector 42 lake.
The carnival would showcase engaging street plays by seasoned artists of NZCC, craft exhibition,3D installations, live painting sessions. The netizens can savour delicacies of different regions at the food stalls and take an adventurous trip at the amusement park. Vintage Car exhibition also saw huge footfall.
The celebrations are also extended in Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh, Sector 42, New Lake, Botanical Garden and Sukhna Lake.
Day Cultural Programme with various artists of Northern India was also organized at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh. Apart from this, Folk Performance by Harjit Harman was amongst the key highlights of the first day of Carnival.
The variety of events is to be organized in the coming days are.:-
● Morning Raga will be organized on 3rd December, 2022 at Botanical Garden and on 4th December, 2022 at Sukhna Lake from 07:00 a.m. onwards.
● Punjabi Musical Evening is to be organized LIVE by Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai on 3rd December, 2022 from 06:30 p.m. onwards at Open Ground Opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10.
● Bollywood Musical Evening is to be organized LIVE by Shaan on 4th December, 2022 from 06:30 p.m. onwards at Open Ground Opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10.
● Kite display on the Theme “आओ उड़ चले हम।“ on 3rd December, 2022 and Kite Competition on 4th December, 2022 will be organized at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh.
