Hooda excited about Adampur by-election, looks confident about victory
• BJP-JJP does not have a single achievement to showcase in Haryana: Hooda
• BJP-JJP made Haryana number one in unemployment, crime, drug addiction, inflation and corruption: Hooda
• Children worried about closure of schools, elderly about deduction of old age pension: Hooda
• Youth facing unemployment, farmers worried about rising costs, decreasing income: Hooda

October 3, Chandigarh: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda appeared excited about the announcement of Adampur by-election. He said that Adampur has been a Congress stronghold from the beginning and Congress victory is certain, like Baroda by-election.
“BJP-JJP has no such achievement to showcase in Adampur and entire Haryana. Every section of the state is unhappy with policies and actions of this government. Today children are worried about the closure of schools, elderly about the deduction of old age pension. The youth are facing the brunt of unemployment, while the farmers are facing rising costs and decreasing income,” the former Chief Minister said.
Hooda said that due to lack of government procurement, once again the farmers are forced to sell their crops below the MSP declared by the government. “Paddy with MSP of Rs 2060 and Bajra with MSP of Rs 2350 are being sold at Rs 1600-1800. The farmers are incurring a loss of Rs 300 to 600 per quintal. On the other hand, they have suffered massive loss due to heavy rains and the state government has not yet carried out a Girdawari till now. In Hisar district alone, 41,000 farmers filled forms to claim crop damage, private insurance companies cancelled 29,000 forms,” he said.
Responding to the questions of journalists, Hooda launched an all-out attack against the state government with figures and facts. “The entire tenure of this government has been full of failures. Haryana was number one in per capita income, per capita investment, employment generation, giving fair rate of crop to farmers, respect for sportspersons, elders, giving highest stipend to poor, downtrodden and backward children and country on every scale of development before 2014. They have made Haryana number one in unemployment, crime, riots, corruption, drug addiction, inflation and misery in 8 years,” he said.
Leader of Opposition said that BJP-JJP coalition government has been formed in Haryana to serve personal interests of the leaders by betraying the public. “This government did nothing except rob the hard earned money of the people. The government had carried out scams of hundreds of thousands of crores like recruitment, paper leak, mining, liquor, registry, paddy purchase, millet purchase, electricity meter, AMRUT scheme, stadium and road construction in the state,” he added.
“The coalition parties had promised that if they came to power, they would give pension of Rs 5100 to the elderly, benefit of old pension scheme to the employees, pay scales similar to Punjab, MSP to farmers as per Swaminathan report, law on MSP, free tubewell connection, 24 hours electricity, unemployment allowance of Rs 9000 to youth, guest teachers and temporary employees will be given firm appointment. But both the parties did not fulfil a single promise of their election manifesto,” he stated.

“Not only this, during 8 years the state did not get any big project, any big industry or institute. No new power plant was installed, no medical college or big university was built. In such a situation, on what basis would the government ask for votes in the bye-election,” he questioned.
