• Current govt does not stand anywhere in front of the Congress govt in terms of opening, upgrading recruiting teachers for schools & educational institutions: Hooda
• After unemployment, govt wants to make Haryana number one in illiteracy too: Hooda
August 29, Chandigarh: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has stated that the BJP-JJP government wants to make Haryana number one in illiteracy as well, after making the state number one in unemployment. He said this is why the schools established with the hard-earned money of the public, the hard work of generations, donations of the panchayats and the cooperation of the society are being closed
He said that the coalition government is not merging the schools but killing the education system of the state. The purpose of Rationalization and Chirag Yojana is to lock the schools according to a pre-decided strategy.
Hooda said that the government is deliberately making misleading statements so that the truth can be hidden from the public. “The statements of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister themselves do not match. For example, the education minister says that the government has merged only the schools running within a village and a kilometer radius. But the Chief Minister says that two or more schools running in just one campus have been merged,” he said.
“The order of the education department and the government’s reply in the assembly shows that the government has locked 301 schools by issuing a list. But the Chief Minister says in a press conference that his government has not closed any school. The Chief Minister says in the same press conference that the BJP government merged only 120 schools during the entire tenure and out of those 120, 42 schools were restarted. That is, according to the Chief Minister, this government merged only 78 schools,” he added.
“But in the same press conference, the Chief Minister himself states that his government reduced the number of 14,503 schools to 9700 as part of the merger process. That is, the government merged more than 4800 schools. The Chief Minister himself has told that his government has merged 4493 schools and reduced the number of 8677 primary schools to 4184. In this way, the post of head teachers from thousands of primary schools also ended. By doing this, the government has also taken away the right of promotion as head teacher from JBT teachers,” he pointed out.
Hooda said the purpose of setting up multiple schools in the same village, setting up separate schools for boys and girls and running two schools on the same campus was to improve management. “The head teachers, staff, administrative functions and accounts of these schools were different. The quality of education was improving due to better management. But the present government ended everything in one stroke,” he stated.
“The state Education Minister claims that many schools have been closed during the Congress government, but the Chief Minister says that the Congress government had just merged the schools. Before the formation of the Congress government, there were 13,190 government schools in the state till 2005-06. Congress increased this number to 14,504 by 2014-15,” he stated.
“The Congress government had only done the work of opening new schools and upgrading the schools. In response to the question asked in the assembly, the government said that 2332 schools were upgraded/opened during the Congress government. In comparison, in response to RTI, the present government said that it established only 8 new schools and upgraded only 463 schools in 8 years,” he said.
Hooda said it was clear that the present government does not stand anywhere in front of the Congress in the matter of setting up new schools, upgrading schools and providing jobs in the education department, because during the Congress government many big steps were taken to make Haryana a hub of education. “Along with the establishment of hundreds of schools including Aarohi, Sanskriti model, Kisan model, 15 national and international level educational institutions including IIM, IIT, Central University, Defense University were established in the state during the Congress government,” he said.
“Rajiv Gandhi Education City, 5 new medical colleges, 12 new state universities, 22 private universities, 34 new universities, 45 government colleges, 503 technical institutes, 140 new government ITIs, 36 Aarohi, dozens of farmers and culture model schools were established. done. More than one lakh jobs were given in all these institutions. In comparison, the BJP, BJP-JJP government did not remove a single JBT recruitment in the entire tenure. This government has not recruited a single teacher on its advertisement till date,” he added.
“This government has merged thousands of schools running in the same village and adjoining villages, not just one campus. By doing so, it has eliminated about 25,000 posts out of 38,476 vacant teachers’ posts without any recruitment. Whereas science stream has been closed in hundreds of schools due to lack of teachers,” he said.
“Many schools do not have teachers for Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Hindi, Sanskrit, English subjects. In this way, by abolishing the posts of teachers and closing government schools, the present government is snatching the right to education from Dalit, backward, poor, farmers, laborers and rural children as they will be hit the hardest by this decision of he government,” he said.
