ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FRESHERS
The Postgraduate Government College for Girls Sec 42, Chandigarh organised Orientation Programme for new undergraduate students of the college in the auditorium on 26th August, 2022. It was presided over by the College PrincipalProf. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal who welcomed the students and addressed the girls, congratulating them on having secured admission in such a prestigious institution of the city beautiful. While motivating students she said it is time to jump start new chapter of your life with a new zeal and they would find new world much better place to live in this institution.Sheurgedthe girl students to keep trying to achieve their ambitions and reiterated that the goal of women empowerment can be achieved through getting good quality education.The college is deeply committed in this regard would leave no stone unturned in making them feel at home she said .She further asked them to focus on building their skills, which would help them to face the world in future. The students were then briefed by the college Registrar Prof. Deepika Kansal who explained the process of examinations in the college, requirement of 75% mandatory attendance and stressed upon other important academic procedures for the students. After they were given a complete layout of the academic structure, Time Table and the students were informed about various facilities available such as myriad societies. Dr. Harjeet Kaur -Convener of the student welfare familiarised students about scholarships and fee concession . Dr. Preeti Sharda , the Librarian of the college gave presentation about the wide ranging facilities available in the college library, Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Virk about the NSS and Ms. Amandeep Kaur about NCC.
