The Himalayan Club Trust is a Non-Governmental Organisation working in different areas of north India to in-still community service and personality development amongst the youth.

The team has recetly started an initiative “HIMALAYAN KAKSHA” in collaboration with Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula for it’s community service initiative. Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula has already been doing excellent to help the society through many initiatives, one out of which is Bhavan’s Chetna Vidyalaya i.e a school for the underprivileged. What is better when guidance from the elders and efforts of the youth come together? Both the organizations have been working together to teach the students of Class 1 to Class 12th who usually do not have the resources with them.

The initiative started in the month of july and is running in full swing from 3PM to 5PM, Monday to Friday at Bhavan vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula.

The volunteers not only teach them but also try to work on their personality development by organising various activities like dancing, singing, Drama, Sports etc. They have also been including Self Defence as an important part of the curriculum. This is just a small step which is indeed changing life of many. The team is open to have more volunteers from in/around tricity to carry forward the initiative. Most importantly, the team has set no age bar for it’s volunteers. Be a student or a retired person, they welcome all with open arms!
