(Review of Free-Precaution/Booster Dose- COVID Vaccination in UT Chandigarh)
Considering that the COVID cases have started rising again, Shri Dharampal, Adviser to Administrator reviewed the status of COVID vaccination today with the Secretary Health UT Administration. Since Free Pre-Caution doses are available for a limited period fo 75 days i.e. upto 30th September 2022, we should make all out efforts to reach the citizens for availing the facility.
2. The Secretary Health briefed the Worthy Adviser that the Govt. of India has launched a new initiative – ‘COVID Vaccine Amrit Mahotsava’ to provide free precaution dose at all Government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs). The main aspects are as under:
• Eligible Population: Persons aged 18 years & above
• Duration of initiative: 15th July 2022 to 30th September’22 (75 days)
• Eligibility Criteria: All persons of 18 years and who have completed 6 months or 26 weeks from the date of administration of 2nd dose
• In UT Chandigarh, free Precaution Dose for 18 years and above has started from 15th July, 2022 and the detail of Vaccination Center is at Annexure-1.:
3. The following was discussed and decided by Shri Dharampal, Adviser to Administrator directed that:
• Special workplace vaccination camps are being organized by the Health Department at big office complexes (Public and Private), Industrial Establishments, Railway Stations, Inter-State Bus stations etc.
• Health Department is organizing special vaccination camps at the premises of Government, Private, Religious, Social, Commercial, Charitable, Market Associations and at RWAs.
• Each of the Secretary of UT Administration Chandigarh is being requested to co-ordinate with the Health Department and to ensure that Special Vaccination Camps are positively organized in their respective administrative departments by 31.07.2022. The Administrative Secretary may group the smaller department in such a way that about 50 persons are available to get vaccinated on the particular day.
• Proper publicity is being done ensured to educate about the availability of free Pre-Caution doses.
4. Any organization (whether Government or Private, Religious or Social, Commercial or Charitable, Market Associations, RWAs) may contact Dr. Manjit Singh, District Immunization Officer on his mobile No- 9463488086 for organizing special vaccination camps at their premises. However there should be atleast 50 beneficiaries for better utilization of the precious resources of the Health Department.
