Medal Winners of Khelo India Youth Games-21 honoured by Adviser
The Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration honoured 16 medal winners of Khelo India Youth Games-21 in a Cash award function organized at Chandigarh Lake Sports Complex. The Chief Guest of this award ceremony, Sh. Dharampal, Advisor to the Administrator felicitated the medal winners of KIYG-21 in a gathering by presenting them a sum of Rs50000/-, Rs30000/- and Rs20000/- as awards to the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners respectively.
The Chief Guest Sh. Dharampal, Advisor to the Administrator had personally visited the venue of KIYG and keenly observed the city athletes participating in the competitions and felt proud to see that some of them are achieving the top honour and some of them giving tough fight to their opponents showing their good sportsman spirit.
Sh. Sarpreet Singh, IAS, Secretary, Sports, Chandigarh Sports department also had a glimpse of performance at the venue and admired the athletes for their scintillating performance in the KIYG-21 competition and he felt proud to see the Chandigarh athletes on the podium. Our luminaries of the city Sh. Sanjay Tandon, Chairman, Administrator’s Advisory Committee on Sports, expressed his views and advised the players to play the game with game sprit and never divert their attention till the target is achieved. Our other luminaries of the city Saurabh Duggal, President, Chandigarh Press Club. Sh.Tejdeep Singh Saini, PCS, Director, Sports Sh. Rajiv Tiwari, Director, Public Relations and Sh. Sunil Rayat, Joint Director, Sports also honoured the occasion with their presence.

Our Smart City has been ranked 13th in the KIYG-21 leaping to previous ranking. Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini, PCS, Director Sports described the futuristic plan for further betterment of sports performance and informed about the induction of three accredited Sports Academy in Chandigarh Sports Department from Khelo India which will certainly boost the medal tally in the coming competitions.
