Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
In an effort to contribute towards the National “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”, a cleanliness drive was organized by the Department of Zoology in association with NSS Unit of Panjab University, Chandigarh on May 24, 2022. The drive was headed by Dr. Y.K. Rawal, Chairperson and coordinated by Dr. Archana Chauhan, Swachhata co-ordinator, Department of Zoology and Dr. Simran Preet and Dr. Vivek Kumar, NSS program officers. A total of 200 persons including faculty, students and staff members of the department along with NSS volunteers participated in this activity. A “Trash to Treasure” competition on the Theme “What you throw away can throw up a new idea.” was also carried out. 16 students submitted their product made from waste material. Prof. Neelima R. Kumar and Prof. V.K. Walia judged the products submitted by the participants. Ms. Tanya Gupta won the first prize, Ms. Shivani sinhmar got the second prize, Ms. Anchal Mehta got the Third prize. Ms. Dhriti Bragta and Ms. Alka won the consolation prizes.
