505-gram heroin worth over Rs 50 lakh seized in Fatehabad
Chandigarh, May 13 – In a major catch, Haryana Police has arrested a drug supplier with 505 grams of heroin in Bhuna area of Fatehabad district.
Sharing the information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused identified as Mohan Lal is a resident of Ding Mandi and presently living in the Auto market, Bhuna.
Preliminary probe revealed that accused brought the consignment from a Nigerian in Delhi to supply in local areas in the district. The estimated value of the seized drug is over Rs 50 lakh.
A team of Anti narcotic cell during patrolling had got a tip-off that arrested accused, who lives in a rented house in the auto market, has come from Delhi with a huge quantity of heroin. On this, the police started vigil near his house. Meanwhile, when Mohanlal came on a motorcycle, the police team overpowered him. When searched, 505 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against the accused and further investigation is underway.
During this year, Police had so far arrested 74 peddlers in Fatehabad district after it recovered around three kg of heroin worth Rs 3 crore from their possession.
