   A Swedish delegation under its Head of Science & Innovation Dr Per-Ane Wikström visited CRIKC, Panjab University Chandigarh.

          A Swedish delegation under its Head of Science & Innovation Dr Per-Ane Wikström visited CRIKC, Panjab University Chandigarh. CRIKC is a conglomeration of academic institutes in and around Chandigarh which is very soon being mandated by Office of the PSA, New Delhi to cater to states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and even beyond. The Swedish delegation wants to engage actively with the CRIKC and map various initiatives in Sweden with India. This will help in exchange visits, joint projects and curriculum development in various disciplines. CRIKC member institutes represented by their personnel attended the exploratory meeting. Swedish cluster is keen on participating in the activities of CRIKC. They were impressed with the various initiatives undertaken by CRIKC and member institutions like tapping industry problems, working on smart city projects, and floating ideas on sustainability.

Prof Gaurav Verma, Coordinator CRIKC informed that under the President-ship of Prof Raj Kumar Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University has been all-inclusive in taking equal strides with member institutions. The diversity of CRIKC he said is believed to be its core strength. CRIKC is all set to cater to Industry, Government and society as a whole. The cluster will take along all aspects of innovation irrespective of areas or disciplines and also align themselves to national schemes like Make in India, Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat, Startup India, Invest India and alike. Members from GMCH-32, IMTECH, NIPER, CCET, Chitkara University, CIAB, NABI, IDC, CRRID, and Panjab University committed their efforts towards synergizing and concerting CRIKC so that it contributes in a big way to the nation. The DUI Prof Renu Vig, and Dean Research Prof Sudhir Kumar lauded the efforts of the CRIKC to strategize and implement collaborative & joint work.

The delegation also visited Design Innovation Centre ( DIC) at UIET and were amazed at the enthusiasm shown by various undergraduate students working in projects in medical devices, reconstructive surgeries, AI and energy conservation.
