PGI Radiology Professor Dr. Manphool Singhal enrolled as distinguished Fellow of U.S. Society of SCMR
Dr. Manphool Singhal, Professor in department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging and lead Cardiovascular Imaging Consultant at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh has been enrolled as Fellow of Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), USA for the year 2021-2022. Fellow of the society is conferred to the very few Cardiac Radiologists across the globe, who demonstrates a very distinguished level of professional and scholarly achievement, integrity and competence in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR) reads the plaque.
The SCMR is an international non-profit medical society based in Mt. Royal, New Jersey, in the United States. It was established as an international representative and advocate for physicians, scientists, and technologists working in CMR imaging. It works to improve patient outcomes through education, training, standards, research and development.
Prof. M.S. Sandhu- Head of Department said “It’s a matter of great pride for the department and for the Institute that Dr. Singhal has been selected as a coveted fellow of SCMR”. He further enumerated that it’s recognition of his work in Cardiac Magnetic Imaging which is a recent addition to the department at PGI. CMR imaging is now fully operational and helping patients with cardiac ailments.
Prof. Singhal earlier was selected for very prestigious International Young Scientist fellowship of Indian Council of Medical Research, Government of India for training in CMR at Barts Heart Centre, London. He is also a fellow of Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (FCCCT), USA and Fellow of Indian College of Radiology and Imaging (FICR).
