Soulful Ghazals leaves the audience spell bound on  concluding day of  two day Hemantotsav of Pracheen Kala Kendra

 

Ghazal aficionados  of City Beautiful were treated to a mesmerizing performance by  Delhi based renowned Ghazal singer and musician Dr. Vinod Gandharav   in a soulful evening  organized by the Pracheen Kala Kendra on the occasion of  concluding day of Hemantotsav , a festival organized on the onset of winters. The occasion was took place here today at its M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium in Sector 35. The musical evening was well-attended and the audience. Dr. Shobha Koser, Registrar  along with Secretary Shri Sajal Koser and Sh. Ashutosh Mahajan, Hon. Director, project , planning and development of Kendra  were also  present on the occasion .

Dr. Vinod Gandharav is a promising name in the field of Ghazals . A Vocalist from Seniya  Gharana,  Dr. Vinod  has not only earned his reputation as a performer, but as a music composer, director all over . He is 18th generation of a reputed musical family. He learnt music intricacies from Gurus like Dr. Krishan Lal Sehgal, Dr. C.L. Verma, Dr. R.S. Shandil, Prof. manoj Sharma, Dr. Roshan Bharti, Pt. Bhola Nath Mishra and Ghazal from Ustad Mehndi Hasan ji. He composed background music for famous daily soaps like Jodha Akbar, Siya ke Ram, , Mahabali Hanuman and Mahabharat etc. He is  felicitated with many prestigious awards.

 

He commenced the programe with a beautiful composition  based on Rag Ahiri Bhairav  with bols “Sakht Raahon mein bhi aasan safar lagta hai “ followed by another ghazal “Kabhi yun bhi aa meri aankh mein ki meri nazar ko bhi khabar na ho”. Then he moved on to present another crisp ghazal which was based on Rag Yaman and Saraswati with bols “Kasie sukoon paun tujhe dekhne ke baad , ab kya ghazal sunau tujhe dekhne ke baad” and was well received by the audience. His next rendering were  two touching compositions based on Raga Shudh Sarang and Shyam Kalyan “Apne saaye se bhi ashkon ko chhupa kar rona , jab bhi rona chiragon ko bhuja kar rona”amid wah wah from listeners and  Rag Pilu Bairagi Bhairav based  ghazal  with bols “Kya bhala mujhko parakhne ka natija nikla , zakhme dil  apki nazaron se bhi gehra nikla” touched the listeners’s heart.

His next ghazal was written by  Sh. Ashutosh Mahajan , the bols of the ghazal was “jab kabhi phool muskuraye hain, zakham kaanton ke yaad aayen hain” which was well received by the audience.

Then he presented famous Traditional Rajasthani Mand “Kesriya Balam”  followed by  traditional composition Banna  which was basically presented  in Raj Darbars in ancient times. This purely classical folk  composition was  studded with bols “Hey bana mere saware nu” .

He concluded his recital with very soulful nazam  by Zafar Gorkhpuri “Dukh Sukh tha ek sabka apna ho ya begana , ek wo bhi tha zamana ek ye bhi hai zamana” enthralled the city audience.

Dr. Vinod Gandharv is ably accompanied by fine team of accompanists like  Sh. Shubhdeep Singh (Keyboard) , Sh. Vikram Gandharav ( Tabla) , Sh. Vivek Dhir ( Guitar)  and Sh. Rajesh Kumar on Sarangi

Dr. Shobha Koser along with Secretary Shri Sajal Koser and Sh. Ashutosh Mahajan honored the artists.
