Shri Dharampal, IAS, Adviser to Administrator UT has set the target of 100% vaccination with both the doses by 31st December of 2021in a press conference held today at UT, Secretariat today . Many of the NGOs, Associations and Corporates have come forward to encourage the vaccination in UT Chandigarh with the aim of 100% vaccination of the targeted population with both the doses. Following this, a lucky draw for COVID vaccination was announced in the month of November 2021. Total 43134 persons who got the dose of COVID Vaccine at Chandigarh between 18.11.2021 to 30.11.2021 were included in the lucky draw.

Total 200 winners were selected through a computerized draw held today (09.12.2021) at the UT Secretariat in the presence of Shri Dharampal, IAS, Adviser to Administrator UT. They will be given following prizes:
• Gift hampers of about Rs. 2000/- each from M/s Trident Group, Chandigarh
• Cash of Rs. 1000/- each from M/s Kandhari Beverages Pvt Ltd, Chandigarh
• Food & Beverages coupons of Rs. 1000/- each from Hotel & Restaurant Association of Chandigarh

The result of the draw has also been uploaded on the website of the Chandigarh Housing Board. Further each of the winners is being informed through telephone and they may collect their prize between 10.00 am to 01.00PM on any working day upto 20.12.2021 from ‘A’ Block in Chandigarh Housing Board in Sector-9D, Chandigarh.

The UT Chandigarh is having the targeted population above 18 years of 8, 43,000 for COVID Vaccination. The first dose of vaccination has already been given to 112% of the targeted population which indicate that many of the residents of other States/UTs have got their vaccination done in UT Chandigarh.

However, for second dose of COVID vaccination, about 78% of the targeted population has been covered so far. About 1, 80,000 persons who have got first dose of vaccination and completed the prescribed gap have not yet taken the second dose of vaccination. Each of such persons is being separately contacted on the given mobile number and a drive has been undertaken to administer 2nd dose in all such cases. The UT Administration has sufficient number of vaccines and there is no waiting time for getting the vaccination either for first dose or for second dose.
