It is a moment of extreme pride and honour that Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, Chandigarh kept its tradition of excellence by lifting the OVERALL TROPHY for the Seventh Consecutive year at the Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2021 held at PG Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh from 27 to 30 November 2021.
The students of the college displayed exceptional talent and creative acumen in the youth and heritage festival.
Dr Ajay Sharma, Principal, while congratulating the exemplary performances showcased by the participants said that it reflected the aim of the college which is to imbibe a spirit of excellence and promote holistic development of the students.
Our students showcased academic prowess by bagging first prize in Quiz, First Prize in Poem Writing, Second Prize in English Handwriting, second prize in Heritage Quiz, Third Prize in Debate, Elocution, Punjabi and Hindi Handwriting Competition.
Musical finesse was presented by students by lifting prizes in Group Bhajan, Group Song (Indian), Classical Music Vocal, Light Vocal Gazal, Folk Song, Folk Orchestra, Instrumental percussion and non percussion, Indian Orchestra. Dancing acumen won prizes in Folk Dance (Girls), Classical Dance, Bhangra.
Creative acuity was at its best with our students showcasing their dexterity in cultural heritage and fine arts by bagging positions in chikku making, pranda making, naala making, tokri making, peerhi making, rassa vattna, eennu making, phulkari, cross stitch, knitting, bagh, rangoli, cartooning, clay modeling, poster making, installation and collage making.
Theatrical expressions overpowered in skit, Bhand, mimicry, mime and histrionics, Our students showed exemplar knowledge of their heritage by claiming prizes in muhwredaar vartalaap, kavishri and Kali.
Dr Ajay Sharma, Principal, also applauded the efforts of staff for having prepared the students at a very short interval of time. In his congratulatory address he also laid stress on the importance of cultural and extra curricular activities and raised the morale of the winners participating in Inter- Zonal Festival.
