UK to Extent Technical Assistance to Support
Sustainability Mobility Solutions for Chandigarh
Chandigarh, 18th November 2021:
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Dharampal, Adviser to the Administrator Chandigarh in presence of Sh.Nitin Yadav, Secretary Transport, Smt.Anandita Mitra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation.
Various aspects of the scope of the said study were discussed.Ms Madhuchhanda Mishra from British Deputy High Commission apprised the Officers that the project will be funded by UK for a duration of 12 months and will tentatively start from January 2022.The broad objective is to provide support for decarbonising the city’s transport and contribute towards the climate change agenda.
The study will also focus on suggesting alternative eco-friendly transport system for the city. The adviser appreciated the British High Commission proposal for the study and accorded its concurrence to initiate the project.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, SP Traffic & General Manager, City Bus Services
