NSS 7 Day Special Camp (9th – 15th November, 2021) Inauguration

Government College of Education, Sector 20, Chandigarh held the inauguration of the 7 Day NSS Special Camp (9th November, 2021 to 16th November, 2021). The Chief Guest Dr. Palika Arora, PCS, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration (U.T), Chandigarh graced the occasion.

She acongratulated the college Principal, Dr. A.K. Srivastava and NSS Program Officers for organizing the camp in a systematic manner. Guest of Hounour Sh.Sunil Bedi, State Liaison Officer (NSS), Chandigarh Administration (U.T), Chandigarh in his address motivated students to participate enthusiastically in the events and emphasized upon the importance of offline classes and activities of educational institutions. He also praised the college for organizing such an enriched 7 Days NSS Program focussed on all round development of the would be teachers comprising of varied lectures, Cleanliness drives, Demonstrations, Awareness camps, Therapy sessions, Yoga training sessions indoor and outdoor games etc. The inaugural was followed by a lecture on “Importance of Yoga in Daily life” by Dr, Mohinder Pratap, Yoga instructor of Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23A, Chandigarh whereby students were informed about Values, ethics and benefits of imbibing Yog in daily life.

Further, a legal awareness session was held by Advocate Jatinder Kumar Kamboj on the occasion of National Legal Services Day in collaboration with Legal Awareness Cell under the supervision of Dr. Meena (Nodal Officer). Mr. Jatinder emphasized upon being aware about ones rights as the citizen of the country, to avoid violations, to protect of rights of the needy and to understand our duties in relation to our rights. He added that Legal service authority act had been established to provide legal aid to the society and everyone irrespective of his caste, creed or religion is entitled to it. He also discussed about the purpose of Lok Adalats in society and Legal Literacy Clubs in institutions to overcome problems as children facing sexual harassment, Violence against children in schools, child abuse, mental harassment, violations of children rights or women rights, domestic violence and to reassure their rights in society by handling such incidents carefully to demotivate such actions in society.
