The North Zone Pedicon 2021 is being organized by the Association of Pediatricians of City Beautiful Chandigarh from 24th to 26th September 2021 at Hotel JW Marriot.

The North Zone Pedicon 2021 is being organized by the Association of Pediatricians of City Beautiful Chandigarh from 24th to 26th September 2021 at Hotel JW Marriot. The conference is being conducted as hybrid conference (physically as well as on virtual platform).
Pre-conference workshops (6 in number) were conducted on 19th and 24th September 2021 which were attended by around 600 delegates from all over the India.
The main conference is being conducted on 25th and 26th September 2021 which is being attended by the 250-300 delegates comprising of students and Pediatricians from the North Indian states and UTs (Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan). The faculty members of national and international repute are attending the conference.
The conference program covers a broad range of topics pertaining to child health including vaccination, pediatric infectious diseases, nutrition, metabolic syndromes, neurodevelopmental disorders, pediatric intensive care, pediatric COVID-19, rational antibiotic use, social and adolescent pediatrics, newborn care, respiratory diseases, and guidelines for several childhood diseases through lectures and panel discussions in 2 halls simultaneously.
Dr Jayashree Muralidharan highlighted the important role played by the pediatricians and healthcare providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also highlighted the need of COVID-19 vaccination in children and school opening. She also highlighted the role of pediatricians in advocacy in child health. Dr Bhavneet Bharti talked about the parenting in COVID-19 era and gave several tips on how to improve parenting skills for better care of children during the pandemic.
The students and researchers will showcase their research work on 26th September 2021 as oral paper and E-Poster presentations. In addition several other events are being organized for the participants and their families including quizzes, online games, music and singing competitions, and cycling.
