Chandigarh.25th August,2021:A tree plantation drive held in collaboration with 51 Battalion of Indo Tibetan Border Police in the Sports Complex,Sector-42. The drive has been carried out under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ ,an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India.
On this occasion Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini,PCS, Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration and Sh. Roop Chand & Sh. Rajinder Prasad, Assistant Commandants with their team members planted 75 saplings in the vacant area of the sports complex. The ITBP jawans and District Sports Officer along with Coaches also took part in this plantation drive.
Similarly, a tree plantation drive organised in Government College of Arts, Chandigarh today. Ms. Ruchi Singh Bedi, HCS, SDM (EAST) inaugurated the plantation drive by planting tree at the premises.
College staff participated in the program enthusiastically. A wide variety of trees planted by the staff including Fishtail & Foxtail Palm,Champa, Suhanjana, Jhumka, Rudraks etc.
These drives organized to enhance the tree cover at the premises and to sensitize citizens/students towards importance of trees in our lives.
