 continues his acts of charity with his donation of Life Support Ambulance to PGIMER

It’s my humble gratitude to the commendable patient service of this towering institute during the calamity of Covid-19, stated Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta

 

Chandigarh: 20 August : Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta, a well-known philanthropist, from Sector-8 Chandigarh, dedicated to the cause of poor and needy showcased another exemplary generous gesture and lent a helping hand to PGIMER as he donated  a life support Ambulance in the memory of his parents here at the Institute today.

 

An alumnus of PGIMER, Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta was accompanied by his family comprising his sons Dr. Nitin Gupta and Mr. Punit Gupta, daughter-in-law Dr Shipra and grand-children Sejal and Akshat as he handed over the keys of the ambulance for patient care services in the august presence of Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER, Prof. A.K. Gupta, Sub Dean (Academics), Medical Superintendent & Head, Deptt. of Hospital Administration, Mr. Kumar Gaurav Dhawan DDA, Mr. Kumar Abhay FA, Prof. Pankaj Malhotra, Dept. of Internal Medicine. Prof. Vipin Kaushal, Addl. Medical Superintendent, Dr. Pankaj Arora, Dept of Hospital Administration and other senior functionaries of PGIMER.

 

Expressing his gratitude and thanking Dr. Gupta for his generous gesture, Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMERstated, “The donation of the ambulance will help the needy patients in the institute. We urge more such donors to come forward and donate medical equipment and kits so that we could serve the people better in the challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic which has hit the country very badly.”

 

Echoing the same sentiments, Prof. A.K. Gupta, Sub Dean (Academics) & Medical Superintendent said, “With his magnanimous gesture,Dr. Gupta has also set a role model for others to emulate to give back to the society in whatever capacity one can.Considering the patient load here in PGIMER from across the Northern Region, this noble contribution towards strengthening medical resources of PGIMER will immensely help the patients here in the institute.”

 

Cherishing the fond memories of his days at PGIMER during his MD in Pediatrics from 1969-72, Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta, shared, “PGIMER has contributed immensely in whatever I am today. So it’s a humble gratitude to the patient service of this towering institute especially in the calamity of Covid-19.”

 

Associated with various social organizations in eminent capacities like Ex-Hony. Director, PRAYAAS, Ex.Hony Secy, ICCW, Bal Bhawan, Ex-Member, Parmanent Lok Adalat, U.T., Ex-Incharge, Pediatric Division, GMSH-16, Ex-Director, Women & Child Development Corporation, Chandigarh, President, Bal Niketan Panchkula to mention a few, Dr. Gupta narrated about his social inclination since his younger days and said, “God has been so kind to us with his limitless bounties. So why not share His abundant gifts with our brethren and help in alleviating their misery? This will give us peace which no material possession can ensure.”

 

 

“During my over 50 years of practice as a doctor, I have observed patients suffer due to unavailability of infrastructure including ambulance. In case of emergency, each moment is critical and well equipped ambulance can help in patient care. Being part of this city, I felt that PGIMER is doing a tremendous job in managing Covid patients and I wanted to contribute in some manner in the institute’s fight against Covid-19. Hence, I decided to donate an ambulance for helping the Covid patients. For spreading information about the prevention, messages regarding the Covid appropriate behaviour have specially been put up on the ambulance itself,” added Dr. Gupta

 

The ambulance is equipped with facilities such as air conditioning, basic life support system, analog oxygen delivery system, auto loader stretcher trolley with floor mounting mechanism, separate doctor’s seat, etc.
