Webinar on Network Security Analytics by Computer science PU
The Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh today, organized a webinar on ‘Network Security and Analytics’, to celebrate ‘Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to commemorate the 75th year of India’s independence and progress. The program was inaugurated today at 11:00 AM and attended by more than 90 faculty members/scholars/students from various departments and colleges.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Ajay Guleria from Computer Services Centre, IIT, Delhi, with more than 27 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and teaching, discussed about network security aspects and recent trends in security analytics. He talked about threats in networks and the causes behind these threats. He gave detailed information about various open source tools to ensure security in campus network which is hard to maintain.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor in his address stressed that technology is important for progress. He said that as network security affects people in many aspects of daily life, so creating awareness about security aspects is the need of the hour. He also discussed that the technology should be easily accessible and affordable to enhance its effective usage. He motivated the researchers for continuous and in-depth research in the network security field to safeguard humanity from various cyber-attacks.
Earlier, Dr. Rohini Sharma, Chairperson in her welcome address shared that this webinar is a part of a series of webinars, seminars, symposiums etc. to be organized with eminent speakers till 75th Independence Day in the year 2022 and later as well. About the talk, she said that this informative talk will help the participants to draw a vision in the area of computer network security.
