Chandigarh, 23rd July 2021: The 19th meeting of the Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee (CHCC) was held under the Chairmanship of the Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh today at UT Guest House. LThe meeting was attended by the Finance Secretary-cum-Secretary Urban Planning, Secretary Culture, Commissioner, MC, Estate Officer, UT, Sh. S.D.Sharma, Architect, Dr. B.N.Goswamy Art Historian, Prof. Rajnish Wattas Principal CCA (Retd)., Chief Engineer-cum-Special Secretary, Sh. Dilmeet Singh Grewal, Architect, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Associate Planner and other officers of the Administration.
A welcome address was given by the Chief Architect-cum Member Convener followed by an introduction of all the members of the committee. A detailed presentation highlighting the enlisted heritage of the City, background of the constitution of the CHCC and the works taken up till date was made by the Member Convener and thereafter general discussions were held on the Heritage matters of the City. The Chairman appreciated of the committee in preserving the heritage character of the city and assured that these efforts shall be continued in the future as well.
In order to bring awareness of the heritage importance of the city, the Chairman directed to disseminate the heritage values to the citizens of the city to be active stakeholders in line with the Edict of Chandigarh and install detailed informative signboards in all the Heritage Building of the City.
