Delegation of CRAWFED met UT Advisor Dharam Pal Chandigarh 16 july Today a delegation of Crawfed led by Hitesh Puri met and welcomed The Adviser to the Administrator Dharam Pal at his office. During the meeting some of burning issues of Chandigarh were put in front of him and seeked an early resolution of same, which are listed as below: • General Amnesty scheme may kindly be launched in Chandigarh Housing Board dwelling units, as a solution (on the lines of Delhi scheme) for the long pending issue of regularization of construction already made in dwelling units beyond permissible limits. Till that time please suspend all penal action of the Chandigarh Housing Board – like demolition and issuing notices of cancellation and taking usage charges/annual penalties. • Enhancing garbage processing capacities; shifting of garbage dump of Dadumajra to a safe and far off place; • There is an acute parking problem all around and we suggest building Community Parking especially in southern sectors of Chandigarh; • Representation of RWA’s in the Advisory Bodies for different Departments to give real voice to ordinary citizens in the planning and execution of public projects; • Single Window System should be implemented for addressing and resolving issues of public. The Adviser assured the delegation that he shall take up all the issues and shown his keen interest in resolving them on priority. Surinder Sharma, Rajat Malhotra, Umesh Ghai and Dr. Anish Garg were part of today’s delegation.
