Adviser reviews Minimizing of Regulatory Compliance with Officers
Chandigarh, 14th July 2021: A review meeting regarding minimizing of regulatory compliance in the Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh with all the Administrative Secretaries and Head of the Departments.
The aim was to examine the relevance and rationale of various compliances under the purview of Government/States/UT’s to rationalize and simplify them. This process would require thorough scrutiny of various Acts, Regulations, Administrative processes and procedural requirements.
The burdensome regulatory compliance adds unnecessary procedure, time and cost for citizens/business that hinders the overall Ease of living and doing business. These compliances becomes no longer relevant due to innovative practices and economic developments.
The Adviser has directed all the officials to take necessary steps to make Government to Business and Government to Citizen Interfaces simple and transparent by following a four tier process i.e.
1. Exhaustive analysis of Acts/Rules/Regulations/Schemes/Grants/Subsidies etc.
2. Conducting Stakeholder consultation to identify burdensome aspects of different compliances
3. Decriminalizing Acts/Provisions in case of minor civil offenses
4. Repeal/Amend/Subsume redundant laws
