Panchkula June 11- The former Haryana Deputy Chief minister Mr Chander Mohan said that the people of the country had fed up with the wrong and destructive  policies of the BJP government and due that the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinder were soaring up daily. The dreams of Ache Din had dashed to the ground.                                            Mr Chander Mohan expressed these views today during a token protest  organized in front of sector 2 panchkula and Barwala petrol pump by the Congress party , on the direction of Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi to register a protest against the unprecedented hike  in the prices of petroleum products in the country.                                                 He pointed out that   the people of the country were again asking the old days of Congress regime, where people were getting the petrol at the rate of Rs 70 per litre, inspite of the prices of crude oil in the international market was at the rate of Rs 110 dollar per barrel. Similarly the gas cylinder which was getting at the rate of Rs 400 per cylinder during the regime of Congress had increased to Rs 825 per cylinder today, apart from the subsidy had been abolished on it. The prices of domestic flights had also been increased twice in  a year raising the fair upto 25  percent according to the distance.During the pendemic over  two crore people had lost their jobs.               Mr Chander Mohan   said it was first time in the history of the country that the prices of petrol had crossed the mark of 100 per litre. The prices of petrol and diesel  had increased at the rate of Rs 25.72 and Rs 23.93 respectively on petrol and diesel during last 13 months.He urged the government of India to reduce the rate of excise duty on petroleum products  from 28 percent to 18 percent and abolish the agriculture  cess of Rs 2.50 and Rs 4 per litre imposed on petrol and diesel respectively in the budget of government of India of 2021-2022.He exudes confidence that government of India would be forced to roll back the increased petroleum products.                      Senier Congress leader Shashi sharma ,

said that the increase had been made not in the diesel and petrol, the prices, but in the prices of gas cylinder also been increased at the rate of  Rs 200 per cylinder during the last three months . The prices of petrol had crossed a mark of over Rs 100 in 122 districts out of 726 districts of the country.                       Those who were present on the occasion included senior Congress leader ex Mayer Upinder kaur Ahulwalia ,Mc ex president  Ravinder Rawal , Mc ex president Manvir kaur gill , Hemant kinger
and a number of Congress party workers.
