New Delhi 31st May 2021 – Shri Raj Kumar Malhotra, Vice-Chairman-EPCH has been elevated as new Chairman of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) during 174th virtual meeting of Committee of Administration (CoA) held today informed Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General(EPCH). Shri Malhotra has taken charge from Shri Ravi K. Passi who upon completion of the two years term as chairman EPCH, retired. Members of Committee of Administration were present during the meeting, welcomed Shri Raj Kumar Malhotra as new Chairman.
Dr. Kumar further said that Shri Raj Kumar Malhotra, representing M/s Asian Handicrafts Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon is a leading handicrafts exporter from Northern region for over 30 years. He is associated with Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) for a very long time and has served EPCH as its Chairman during 2009-11 as well. He is very actively involved in various trade bodies and he is also an elected member of Managing Committee of FIEO.
Shri Raj Kumar Malhotra expressed his gratitude to members of Committee of Administration of EPCH after being elevated as Chairman of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, an apex organization for promotion of Exports of Handicrafts from the Country.
The estimated figures for exports of handicrafts for the period April-March of the current financial year 2020-21 which stands at Rs. 25558.94 crores (USD 3443.45 million) registering a growth of 1.14 % (Rupee terms) and decline (-)3.39 % (dollar terms) over the same period last year.
