Chandigarh.30th March,2021:Honble Governor of Punjab and the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, Adviser to the Administrator and Secretary (E&T) U.T., Chandigarh after detailed deliberations, had approved the Excise Policy for the year 2021-22. The first round of e-tendering was held on19.03.2021, wherein the department had allotted 80 liquor vends out of 96 and the e-tenders were invited for allotment of remaining 16 licensees for Retailsale vends (L-2/L-14A) from the general public for Excise Policy 2021-22 (01st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) in U.T., Chandigarh. The bidding process started from 22nd March, 2021 and came to an end on 30th March, 2021 at 02:00pm.
In the second round of e-tendering held on 30.03.2021, the Excise & Taxation Department, U.T., Chandigarh received a total 19 tenders/ bids electronically against 10 of the 16 pending liquor vends/ licensing units. After opening of e-financial bids, 10 liquor vends were sold out and the Department received a revenue of Rs. 48.54 crores against Rs. 41.79 crores reserve price with an increase of 16.16%. In totality, the Department got overwhelming response from the trade by collecting a total revenue of Rs. 446.58 crores from 90 liquor vends in the shape of licence fees against a reserve price of Rs. 359.10 crores, registering an increase of approximately 24.36% over the reserve price and received a total of Rs 6.33 crores in shape of participation fee. An analysis of the successful bidders revealed that no single entity got allotment of more than 8 vends.
The opening of e-tenders/ financial bids held at Conference Hall, U.T., Guest House, Sector 6, Chandigarh took place in the presence of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Excise & Taxation Commissioner-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T., Chandigarh. Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Collector (Excise), Sh. Harjeet Singh Sandhu, PCS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Central) & Sh. Satpal Gill, Excise & Taxation Officer as members of Allotment Committee and Sh. Virat, HCS as observer appointed by the Chandigarh Administration.
