Chandigarh sunita shastri:The 50th seven days All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya & Sangeet Sammelan’s concluding day was studded with the soulful vocal and incredible Bharatnatyam and Kathak dance presentations at the Tagore Theatre here today. Kendra Secretary, Shri Sajal Koser were present on the occasion. About Artists Poornima Kulkarni hails from Dharwad district of Karnataka which has been internationally acclaimed as the nursery of generations of world-renowned vocalists and musicians.Poornima was initiated into Hindustani classical vocal music by Smt. Usha Datar at an early age of 12 years. She received advanced training from Sur-Sagar, trainer par excellence, Padmabhushan Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru. Under his tutelage, Poornima blossomed into a versatile vocalist. Poornima is a recipient of Gold Medals in BA & MA (Music) for excellence in her academic career from Karnatak University On the other hand Retired as Director, Central Archives Doordarshan, New Delhi, Guru Kamalni Dutt, is a reputed teacher and choreographer. Trained under great Gurus in three styles of classical dance forms, Smt. Kamalini Nagrajan Dutt has nurtured several young artistes who have acquired national repute. She is scholar, teacher and choreographer who has created original dance compositions for solo and group performances. Smt. Kamalini Dutt had the privilege of recording the performances of most of the great stalwarts in the field of music and dance in her career as a Television Producer spanning over 4 decades.Programme-After a reposeful aalap Poornima presented raga Puriya Kalyan in bandish “ovan lagi sanjh bhai” in vilambit ek taal. Her next rendering was drut bandish with bols ” Dhan dhan tero bhag” followed by a tempting Tarana.. She left a mark on the audience with rendition of concluding composition in Hori with bols ” Khele Nandlal sang rangbhari hori” was well received. She was well accompanied by Durjay Bhaumik on Tabla and Paromita Mukherjee on Harmonium. Thereafter the team of celebrated Bharatnatyam Guru Kamilini Dutt took the centre stage. They presented ” Rangoantaratma ” a journey of Nada, Bindu , Kala and Rasa through their incredible dance performance. This concept was based on Shiv tatva in which the Shakti and birth of nature and utmost bliss of life was presented with fine footwork, beautiful movements and soulful expressions. They spellbound the audience with their abhinaya and nritya. Divya Goswami , Purva Dhanashree, Hemant Kalita and Dr. S. Vasudevan was the great pairs for this ultimate presentation. Kendra Secretary Sajal Koser honoured the artists. Secretary Sh. Sajal Koser gave Vote of thanks to audience, media , artists to make this Sammelan a huge success.
