Chandigarh.12 March,2021:To celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has been initiatied by involving various departments. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi today, by flagging off a 241-mile march from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi in Gujarat’s.
The Department of School Education of UT Chandigarh celebrated ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with dedication in all the schools of UT Chandigah.
The event in schools of UT Chandigarh was inaugurated by Worthy Director School Education, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar in GMSSS, Sector 21, Chandigarh. While addressing the students, Sh. Brar added that it is proud a moment for all of us to peep into our glorious history and value the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Series of events to mark 75 years of India’s Independence as ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ have been planned from March 12, 2021 to August 15, 2022 which will be celebrated with full ardour and zeal in all the schools of UT Chandigarh.
The live streaming of the event by the Prime Minister was witness across by the Principal, staff and students of all the schools of UT, Chandigarh.
To sensitize the present generation of students, many schools also conducted Essay writing competitions on 75 years of Independence & other related topics and their videos will be uploaded in the department website. Some schools also conducted Special Assemblies, enlightening the students and teachers about the contributions made by freedom fighters, other schools conducted Role play activities, where the students enacted the role of freedom fighters highlighting their contribution in the freedom movement. The best students will be awarded by the Education Department.
In an event organized by the Department of Culture, UT, Chandigarh, the Education Department has contributed a kite to be released with 75 balloons attached to it symbolizing India@75.
