Chandigarh sunita shastri : National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh inaugurated Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on 12thMarch 2021. An online seminar as a part to the said event was organized and attended by Deans, HoDs of various departments, faculty, staff and students. The program began with the address of Prof. S.S. Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh in which heput forth his opinions about Azadi which has beena result of many known and unknown endless freedom struggles. He also emphasized upon the importance of Azadi to younger generation.Prof.Pattnaik furtheriterated the need to celebrate the day in the name of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ in a way that provides everyone an opportunity to recall the events and active personalities of the freedomstruggle.Dr. B.S.Pabla, Professor Mechanical Engineering department of the institute motivated the participants to impart the knowledge with practical orientation and innovative methodologies with positive thinking at the core.The invited keynote speaker – Dr. Manoranjan Dhal, Professor & Chairperson, OrganisationalBehaviour& Human Resources, IIM, Kozhikode delivered an online talkon the contribution of labour movement in India’s freedom struggle. He put forthamong all, the journey of struggle for social justice, beginning from how the demands were raised for upliftment of working conditions of labours as well as for protecting their health and finally how they got their rights. He also emphasized on being aware of our responsibilities along with freedom.Several other events such as Essay competition, Poster competition and Seminar will be organized up-till April 5, 2021 as a part to the ongoing celebrations in context of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav at NITTTR Chandigarh. Today’s Seminarwas the first event in context of the above celebrations to be observed at NITTTR, Chandigarh and was organized by Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Garima Saini and Dr. Mala Kalra, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks to all dignitaries and participants.
