Chandigarh sunita shastri:The Pracheen Kala Kendra is delighted to announce the Golden Jubilee celebrations of their prestigious week long All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya & Sangeet Sammelan to be held from 16th March to 22nd March 2021 at Tagore Theater. At the very outset we may share that over the years the Sammelan has attained a national and international reputation which is gratifying as well as encouraging . Every year renowned artists from all over the country participate in this Sammelan which is organized without charging any entry fee/tickets from the audience. The Kendra organizes this festival exclusively for the promotion of classical arts. The City Beautiful Chandigarh and All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan have shared the journey of growth and evolution and the Sammelan has put the city on the cultural map of the world. Unfortunately this event got cancelled last year due to COVID, but Kendra is again gear up with the same as this is the much awaited bonanza of prominent presentations of the 50th Annual All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya & Sangeet Sammelan , which assumes significance because of its Golden Jubilee celebrations will feature renowned maestros of all the three genres of Classical music i.e. Gayan (Vocal), Vadan (Instrumental) and Nritya (Dance) as evident from enclosed list. As you are aware that the Pracheen Kala Kendra , established in 1956 has been extensively engaged in the promotion , preservation and dissemination of Indian Classical Arts as well as imparting quality education, training and conducting examinations in the field of performing and visual arts since its inception in 1956. It may be mentioned here that the Kendra has a worldwide network of examination centres which specializes in education in the field of art and culture. It has more than 3800 affiliated institutions spread all over the country and abroad . We are please to share that the Kendra, earlier confined to Chandigarh only has now spread its wings to whole of India by opening its regional offices in Mohali (Punjab), Kolkata (West Bengal) , Delhi, Patna (Bihar), Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) and Jorhat (Assam).All-India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan is hailed as one of the most prestigious music and dance festivals of India. Since its beginning in 1969, it has offered an ideal stage for the debut of many musicians and dancers. This festival provides a magnificent opportunity to performers to showcase their endowments. During their cultural festivals and convocations, Kendra also has the tradition of honoring eminent personalities for their outstanding contribution in their respective chosen fields. In the last 60 years Kendra has honored hundreds of persons of repute and excellence throughout India . This year Kendra has decided to honor Sh. Shekhar Sen, Singer, Composer, Lyricist and Actor of Excellence , Mrs. Nonika Singh, Senior Art Critic, The Tribune , Chandigarh, Mrs. Henna Rakheja , Principal Correspondent Art And Culture, Hindustan Times, New Delhi for their tireless contribution to promote Indian Classical art forms amongst future generations Since its start in 1969, almost all the leading luminaries from the field of classical dance and music have had the occasion to be part of the annual Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan. This is evident from the participation of Pt. Vinayak Rao Pattwardhan, Pt. Vinayak Rao Vyas, Ustad Bade Mubarak Ali Khan, Dr. M.
