IMPCC Meeting focus on cohesive, inclusive and integrated activities to complement State, Central Government welfare initiatives

The meeting of Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) of the various units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and central and state government departments in Punjab, Haryana & UT of Chandigarh, held today focussed on cohesive, inclusive and integrated activities to complement State and Central Government welfare initiatives and schemes for the socio-economic development of all sections of people in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.The monthly meeting is convened to provide a platform to all the stakeholders including media units, implementing and executing agencies as well as departments to discuss issues and highlight their activities.

Chairing the meeting through videoconferencingAdditional Director General, PIBChandigarh, Smt. Devpreet Singhdirected to continue efforts and initiatives in synergy with all media units in coordination with the government departments and agencies to amalgamate the gains achieved on ground to strengthen ongoing COVID-19 Vaccination Drive and already launched Jan Andolan on COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

Shri Pavitar Singh, Director(M&C), PIB Chandigarh briefedabout the daily publicity activities undertaken during the current month at PIB Chandigarh. He also mentioned that PIB India and PM India websites were maintained for Punjabi content and articles on various contemporary issues as received from headquarters are being issued to the media in regional languages. Deputy Director, Shri Anuj Chandak informed the participants about various awareness generation activities undertaken by ROB/FOBs in the region.Sohan Kumar, Programme Executive, AIR Jalandhar talked about various programmes like budget discussion, Covid-19 appropriate behaviour, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat mounted by AIR Jalandhar during February.

Shri Laxman Singh Rawat, Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operation (DCO), Punjab; Smt. Supriya Chauhan, Assistant Director, DCO, UT Chandigarh; Y.D. Mishra, Programme executive, AIR Rohtak; Amarpreet Singh, Transmission Executive, DDK Chandigarh; Ms Sapna, Assistant Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, Chandigarh and representatives from BCC division of National Health Mission in Punjab&Haryanaand participants from other concerned departments also attended the online meeting.

The session concluded with Shri Hitesh Rawat, Assistant Director, Press Information Bureau (PIB), Chandigarh, presenting a vote of thanks to all the participants.
