Dr. Samira Koser is a Kathak dance exponent who is working in the field of applied Kathak and unfolding the cognitive angle of our classical arts and trying to connect Kathak Dance style to the young and tender minds of next generation. For her every art should be aesthetically beautiful and existentially meaningful. All arts should have a purpose, it should advance and elevate humanity and be instrumental in building a healthy, prosperous, happy and well cultured society. Kathak is a dance form where graceful movements, subtle bhava and controlled yet abandoned rhythm coalesce into vividness and grace, vitality and charm. A demanding art requiring both skill and dedication. And it is just this combination that makes Samira Koser one of the brightest and young exponents of Kathak.Today’s baithak commenced with invocatory piece a beautiful shloka with bols ” Pratham vandan karun dhiyayun Shri Ganesh” in which she offer prayers to Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu , and Gurus. After this invocatory piece she moved on to present traditional Kathak dance of Jaipur Gharana with Thaat, , paran, chakradar paran, upaj, gat, nikas, ladi tihai , chalan , tripalli paran so on were presented with captivating and graceful movements and fine footwork.
The programme was concluded with a poignant presentation based on a poem titled “Kisan” written by famous poet Sh. Maithilisharan Gupt . Through this incredible presentation Samria depicted the views and emotions of poet through her dance and expressions. The bols of poem were ” barsa raha hai Ravi Anal , bhutal tava sa jal raha” . Her Fine footwork , Bhav, Abhinay, expressions and knowledge of the rhythm and taal has ample proof of her talent and hard work.
